Our ‘Planet’ Compostable coffee lids are made from a plant based polymer, CPLA, and are certified compostable to EN13432 standard.
CPLA (Crystallized Polylactic Acid) is a plant-based polymer made from corn starch. It is a renewable and sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics. CPLA is also known as PLA (Polylactic Acid), but CPLA has been crystallised through a special process to make it more heat-resistant and durable.
EN13432 is a European standard for compostable packaging. It specifies that packaging must be able to break down completely into natural elements within 12 weeks under industrial composting conditions. This means that your “Planet” Compostable coffee lids can be composted in commercial composting facilities, which will help to reduce waste and protect the environment.
