With sweat beading on brows, crowds roaring with every stride, and the iconic London Skyline overhead – You can surely be at only one event, The London Marathon!

The electrifying 26.2 mile journey converges each year, landing on Sunday 21st April 2024 where personal records will be broken and landmark achievements are made. However, for many who embark on this monumental feat, the finish line isn’t the only goal.

Thousands lace up their trainers, not for glory, but to raise vital funds for causes close to their hearts. These charity runners are heroes in running shoes, turning each step into hope for individuals, communities and causes in need.

This year our very own Steve Banting Snr, coffee machine engineer is one of them and will be raising funds for The Miscarriage Association. Founded in 1982 by a group of people who had experienced miscarriage. The Miscarriage Association felt strongly that someone needed to provide the support and information which they had found lacking in their medical care, and so they set up a new charity.

More than 40 years later, the Miscarriage Association has grown and developed in many ways, but still pursues the founding aims of offering support and information to anyone affected by the loss of a baby in pregnancy, raising awareness of miscarriage and promoting good practice in medical care.

“ As someone who has family, friends and work colleagues who have experienced the heartbreak of miscarriage, I am passionate about supporting The Miscarriage Association. Their work provides vital support and information to those who have suffered a loss, and helps to break down the stigma surrounding this often misunderstood topic, until you are involved in this heartbreak you don’t realise how too common but misunderstood this problem is for all families involved.” – Steve Banting, Logic Vending
